Getting to
Golden Grove

  • Buses are constantly travelling along King Street. If you wish to travel to the City (CBD) you can catch a bus on the north side of King Street, outside the new Moore College building.

To return to Newtown from the city you catch the 423, 426, 428 or 430 in Elizabeth Street or at Railway Square (i.e. Central Station). Alight at Queen Street, Newtown with first stop past Forbes Street on the left.

All buses in Sydney require you to have a pre-purchased OPAL card. Tickets are not available for purchase on buses. The nearest location to purchase an Opal card is at the convenience store on Cor. Missenden Road and King Street, less than 5 minutes walk from Golden Grove.

  • Newtown Station is 20 minutes straight down on King Street, most of the walk is sheltered from shops’ awnings.

The closest train station is MacDonaldtown, which is only a 10-15 minute walk from Golden Grove through the residential area. At night, this is not the safest route. It is an up-hill walk and not lit very well.

If you are coming from Central Station, it is a 15 minutes bus ride to Golden Grove with bus stop is at Railway Square’s ‘Stand L’ in George Street.

  • Golden Grove is not accessible from King Street by car.

From King Street, turn into Darlington Road then veer into Golden Grove Street. At the end, turn right into Wilson Street and first right into Forbes Street. Enter Golden Grove’s gated driveway on the left-hand side.

Golden Grove offers around 15 carpark for guests inside the facilities.
